Homeschooling in Colorado: the paperwork, exactly

What Colorado law requires when you teach your child at home — the filings, the deadlines, the records — and what it does not require, in writing.

Colorado — Recurring filing calendar

Notice: Written notice to a Colorado school district 14 days before starting the program, and annually thereafter.

Ongoing duties: Test or qualified-person evaluation in grades 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 with results submitted; keep attendance and test records.

Withdrawal from public school: no codified withdrawal procedure — a dated written notice to the school is the practice, and it creates your paper record.
